At St. Mark’s, we are an active, busy congregation. We offer:
Weekly Sunday Worship and Sunday School
- 10am Family Worship Service with Holy Communion- Sunday School for children during sermon A nursery is available with speakers from the service provided in the nursery so you may follow along if this is helpful.
- 11 AM Sunday School for adults- Study of Luke
- Please come as you are. Bring the children with their wiggles or join us online, bring yourself in whatever attire, bring your questions and ponderings. We are a safe place for all people
Fellowship and Service Opportunities
- Monthly women’s gathering with a different topic each month. This year we have focused on our calling in vocation from God. We have had presenters from other sisters in the congregation – an audiologist, a optometrist, a occupational therapist, a nurse, a painter and a librarian with some bible studies as well.

Community Outreach and Service : Local Efforts and Events
- Our Pastor works with the Phoenix Recovery house for women providing small group learning and discussion
- Red Cross blood drives – The fellowship hall is frequently used as a “home” for the local Red Cross blood drives
- AA – The fellowship hall hosts Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon meetings on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.
- Scouts – We host a girl scout troop which meets on Monday Evening
- Mustard Seed Food Bank – In addition to our monthly collection for the Mustard Seed, we help stock their shelves for winter every year with our annual month-long canned goods congregational competition each October.
- Vacation Bible School – During the summer there are a variety of activities offered for young children to learn and grow in faith.
- Lenten services – Each Wednesday evening during the season of Lent, the congregation gathers for an informal prayer service.
State/Synod Efforts and Events:
- Community Lutheran Partners – The social ministry organization of the WV-WMD synod, CLP provides disaster relief, social and economic justice work – addressing hunger, poverty, poor housing, and healthcare issues – and support for women in domestic violence shelters.
- Lutheran Campus Ministries at WVU – Our support helps keep the students and chapel in Morgantown going strong.
- Camp Luther – The church camp of our WV-WMD synod, Camp Luther is over 65 years young. Every year, St, Mark’s sends campers and staffers off to Cowen, WV, for a week of fellowship, worship, fun, and learning. The congregation takes up a special collection to provide scholarships, so that every child and youth who wants to go to Camp Luther can. 4/23
